Primary Wave Music Publishing has entered into a co-publishing venture with John Forte, a singer/songwriter and un-official fourth member of The Fugees. Under the terms of the pact, Primary Wave will provide a variety of marketing and administration services to Forte.

The artist has four albums' worth of material ready to record, according to the announcement of the signing. In addition to his own works, Forte will collaborate with other artists.

Forte, convicted for dealing drugs, had his sentence commuted by President George W. Bush in November, after serving eight years of a minimum 14-year sentence.

In the past, Forte produced and wrote two tracks, "Cowboys" and "Family Business" on the Fugees album "The Score." He also released two solo albums, "Poly Sci" and "I, John."

For Primary Wave, GM and partner Justin Shukat said, "The depth of John's work is extremely compelling and we are thrilled to be partnering with him. With John's musical sensibilities and our unique approach to marketing and placement, we look forward to increased opportunities and reaching new audiences."

In addition to working on music, Forte is a contributor to the "Daily Beast" and is working with at-risk youth through organizations such as In Arms Reach, a community based arts, counseling and mentoring program for children of incarcerated parents, according to the release announcing the deal.
