London-based music publisher Boosey & Hawkes has inked a deal with U.K. computer gaming music supervision specialists Platinum Sound Publishing, which covers the synch representation of selected Boosey & Hawkes catalog in the computer gaming arena.

Platinum Sound will use its contacts with the world's leading computer games developers and publishers -- including Capcom, THQ, Monumental, Nadeo and Juice -- to shop Boosey & Hawkes' catalog on a non-exclusive, global basis. Potential gaming platforms include Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Wii.

"We see computer gaming as a huge growth area for our synch business and have teamed up with Platinum Sound to maximise our opportunities in this area," said Natasha Baldwin, head of consultancy at Boosey & Hawkes in a statement. "Platinum has a deserved reputation as one of the best music supervision companies in this sector and we look forward to working with them to increase our presence in the computing gaming world."

Adi Winman, creative project manager at Platinum Sound added: "It's an absolute pleasure to team up with Boosey & Hawkes. With much of B&H's extensive catalogue at our fingertips, this will enable us to extend even further our service, providing quality tunes and soundscapes in a wide variety of genres and styles, with quick clearance for the games industry."

As well as being the largest specialist classical music publishing company in the world, Boosey & Hawkes has a growing jazz roster and has signed a number of independent labels up to master synch representation, including Fat Cat Records, One Little Indian Records and Crunchy Frog Records.
