Atom Factory co-president Ty Stiklorius is establishing her own management firm, Friends At Work. She brings with her clients John Legend and Lindsey Stirling, along with Jeff and Eric Rosenthal from hip-hop sketch comedy duo ItsTheReal. Also joining Stiklorius in the new venture is fellow Atom Factory management colleague Adina Friedman, who worked with Stirling and Meghan Trainor.
Calling Atom Factory chairman/CEO Troy Carter and Stiklorius a "great team," a source tells Billboard that Stiklorius simply wanted to assume a greater executive role by launching her own company. Adds the source, "Troy is a survivor who attracts great talent."
The current Atom Factory client roster includes Trainor, Charlie Puth, Ryn Weaver, Kamasi Washington, Bonnie McKee and Tristan Prettyman. “The only thing that I love as much as artists are entrepreneurs, and Ty has the makings of a great one,” Carter says in a statement. "Although I'm sad to see her leave, I'm grateful for our time together and extremely proud of what we've accomplished over the last three years. She and John are going to build a great company that will help other artists and have an impact on the community. They'll always be a part of our family here at Atom Factory."
Stiklorius, No. 49 on Billboard’s 2014 Women in Music power list, was appointed co-president of Atom Factory alongside Julius “J” Erving in 2014. She first teamed with Carter in 2012, co-managing Legend, K’naan and Stirling. She is also a partner with Legend and Mike Jackson in the Get Lifted Film Co. Her association with Legend dates back to the formation of John Legend Ventures in 2006, which focused on brand strategy, technology, business development and philanthropic opportunities.
