C3 Presents, the Austin-based independent concert promotion, event production and artist management company, will announce today that Matt Shay will be joining C3's Management division as president.
Shay comes to C3 Management from Zeitgeist Artist Management, where he spent the past three years managing The Head And The Heart and MS MR, among others. Shay was formerly SVP A&R/Marketing at RCA Music Group, where he signed Pearl Jam and worked closely on marketing the debut albums for both Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys. Shay also signed a number of developing bands, including Say Anything, Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons.
Prior to joining RCA MG, Shay spent four years doing A&R and marketing for Stone Gossard’s Seattle-based Loosegroove Records, where he signed Queens of the Stone Age and worked on a number of campaigns for the label’s artists.
“I am incredibly excited and honored to be joining the team at C3 Management,” says Shay in a statement. “The foundation that has been built by the C’s [partners Charlie Walker, Charles Attal, and Charlie Jones] is one of the strongest in the business. Blending C3’s incredible live concert business with artist management provides a visionary platform for artists”
Walker adds, “Matt’s notable A&R and management leadership experience will help expand our artist roster to the next level and we look forward to him taking the lead at C3 Management.”
Along with Shay, Brian Beck joins the C3 Management team from Zeitgeist Artist Management and brings his management, radio and label background from the likes of Black Seal/RCA, MTV, Astralwerks Records among other notable companies.
Shay will continue to co-manage MS MR with Louise Latimer, and co-manage The Head And The Heart with Jordan Kurland.
