Darius Rucker, the '90s alt-rock leader of Hootie and the Blowfish who has become a massive success story in the world of country music, has signed with CAA, it was announced today in a statement from the agency. CAA will represent Rucker "in all areas," the agency confirmed to Billboard.biz. Rucker was previously represented by the William Morris Agency.

A few weeks ago on June 30th, Rucker wrapped his first solo headlining tour in support of True Believers, his third solo effort which Rucker will be supporting again in the Fall. True Believers, released earlier this year, has sold 262,000 copies according to figures from SoundScan. His previous effort, 2010's Carleston, S.C., moved 646,000.

In April, CAA announced its partnership with Roc Nation in forming Roc Sports, a boutique sports agency led by Jay-Z. The company initially entered the sports industry in 2006.
