The AIM Independent Music Awards, an annual celebration of indie artists and industry figures, will take place Sept. 8 at The Brewery in London. Returning as hosts will be XFM's John Kennedy and Radio 1's Alice Levine.
"Independent labels have proven once again their undoubted lead in A&R in the last 12 months," said awards organizer Lara Baker. "From grime, to metal, folk and dubstep, it's the indies who are leading the field in creativity, innovation and talent. We can't wait to celebrate this year's talent and honour the icons of our sector on September 8."
Last year's winners included Beggars Group founder Martin Mills, DJ and producer Richie Hawtin, trio London Grammar and Arctic Monkeys, who walked away with the Independent Album of the Year award for AM.
The awards, which are presented by the Association of Independent Music, a trade body in the U.K., are voted on by a panel of judges from Radio 1 and 1Xtra, 6Music, XFM, Drowned In Sound, The Quietus, Mixmag, The Independent, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, DIY and FACT Magazine.
