Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. announced today (Jul. 18) that Robb Spitzer has been appointed Managing Director of Live Nation China Concerts.
Spitzer’s position, based out of Shanghai, is a newly created job that will allow him to work with Live Nation’s joint venture partner in China to bring more international acts to the Chinese Market. Additionally, the newly appointed managing director will collaborate with Live Nation’s Head of Regional Artists, Hung Tik to develop tours for domestic artists.
Live Nation CEO and President, Michael Rapino said in a statement that, “We continue to expand our worldwide network as global tours are rapidly including many new core markets. Building our presence in China is a key step in this expansion.”
Live Nation has had a presence in China since 2005 when the company launche a joint venture with Beijing Gehua Cultural Development Group. The joint venture has promoted numerous international acts including the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Avril Lavigne and Jason Mraz.
Prior to being appointed as Managing Director of Live Nation China Concerts, Spitzer had been living and working in China since joining Sony Music China in 2003. He went on to co-found concert promoter China West before joining Ticketmaster China. Spitzer has been working as the Managing Director of Radical Media’s Chinese subsidiary for the past four years.
