Gloria Estefan to Speak at Billboard Latin Conference

Superstar Gloria Estefan has been confirmed for a Superstar Q&A session during the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Conference & Awards, taking place April 22 to 25 at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami.

Estefan, perhaps the most iconic Latin diva in the world, will sit with Leila Cobo, Billboard’s Executive Director of Latin Content and Programming, for an in-depth conversation about her new album, her Broadway show, her multiple businesses, and remaining Number 1 on the charts

Estefan is credited for being one of the most successful crossover artists of all time and has earned 17 Billboard Latin Music Awards and seven Grammy® awards since debuting as the front woman for what would become the Miami Sound Machine, a band she joined as a teenager upon meeting her now-husband and 19-time Grammy® award-winning producer Emilio Estefan, eventually evolving into solo superstardom and a Hispanic female role model.  Her successful recording career includes the record for the most No. 1 singles among all female artists in the history of Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart with 15 chart-toppers on the list, including "Hoy," "Si Voy a Perderte," "Con Los Años Que Me Quedan," and "Hotel Nacional." Additionally, her blockbuster album, Mi Tierra, continues to hold the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Albums chart, with a stunning 58 weeks at the top of the list. She's had four straight decades of top 40 hit albums -- 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010, on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Her most recent album, 2011's Miss Little Havana, became her 16th chart hit upon its release. Gloria has earned three No. 1s on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart: "Anything For You," "Don't Wanna Lose You" and "Coming Out of the Dark.”

Estefan, who was the recipient of Billboard’s 2009 Spirit of Hope Award for her humanitarian work, has also a best-selling children’s author and the first Cuban American to become a minority share-holder in an NFL franchise, with a stake in her hometown Miami Dolphins team.

Gloria Estefan joins Colombian superstar Carlos Vives and a lineup of key industry leaders who are also scheduled to participate in the conference, presented by State Farm in Association with Pepsi.  Speakers include executives from Vevo, Spotify, Deezer, NPR, Muve, BMI, Goya Foods, Sony Music, Terra Networks, Pepsi and Zumba Fitness, among other brands and companies.
