Veteran artist booking agent Martin Hopewell has stepped aside as managing director of London-based Primary Talent International after 16 years in the role.

He will continue at Primary Talent in an advisory capacity, and will remain as an agent handling his own roster of acts, which includes the Cure and Peter Gabriel.

Additionally, Hopewell retains his other role as the organizer of the annual International Live Music Conference (ILMC), which will be held in London at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, on March 9-11, 2007.

"I have been at this game a long time and, after a while, it is best to own up when it's time to move on and let someone else have a crack at it," he tells Billboard.biz.

Peter Elliott, a director on Primary Talent's corporate board, replaces Hopewell as managing director.

"The Board is a strong team of highly talented and experienced individuals, and I know that they will do a great job," Hopewell added in a statement.

The company's portfolio of other live-music acts represented in the United Kingdom includes Basement Jaxx, Gwen Stefani, Daft Punk and Kylie Minogue.
