Theo Roos, president and CEO of Universal Music Netherlands, has stepped down after more than a decade in the role.

With immediate effect, Roos is succeeded by Kees van der Hoeven, who has served as managing director of Universal Music Publishing Benelux since 1997.

In his new role as president/CEO of Universal Music's Dutch affiliate, Van der Hoeven reports to Universal Music Group International chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge

In a statement, Grainge describes Roos as one of Universal Music's "most effective, most successful European executives for these past 14 years," and says, "we're sorry he's decided to leave."

Roos also intends to step down as senior VP, UMGI, for the Nordic and Belgian region, the company said in a statement today, but he will continue to serve in that role until the company recruits a successor.
