Internet radio network has chosen Taiwan to launch what it claims is Asia's first mobile-based subscription music-streaming service.

"We chose Taiwan because it's a small market as well as being technologically advanced," says Taipei-based live365 Asia Pacific GM C.T. Teng, who says the service will begin operation at an unspecified date in July.

The service, which will be operated as part of a joint marketing deal with Taipei-based Chung Hwa Telecom, will offer streaming music from 500 "stations" covering 25 major genres, according to Teng.
