U.K. band Athlete's "Hurricane" will be the first chart-eligible single to carry a video tutorial bundle.

From Aug. 27, customers who purchase the digital track from the Parlophone-signed band's Web site or at Now Play It will get a tutorial including the music video and song tablature, plus a preview trailer of the band teaching users how to play the song.

Now Play It went live in July, offering DRM-free downloadable videos of artists providing techniques, guidance and stories about the tracks that made them famous.

Full tutorials, lasting from 15 minutes, are charged at £3.99 ($8.00), while "lite" tutorials of three to six minutes cost £1.99 ($3.99) and are chart eligible.

In a statement, Athlete frontman Joel Pott said, "We're really excited to have our songs on Now Play It. We hope people have as much fun picking up their guitar and having a go with their mates as we've enjoyed taking them through the songwriting process."

"Hurricane," which is currently at No. 39 on the U.K. singles chart based on download sales, is the first cut from the their third album "Beyond The Neighbourhood", set to bow on Sep. 3.

"Now Play It provides fans with an instant and in-depth connection with Athlete's new release, allowing them to play the song with the band on the same day as the single comes out which has never happened before until now," comments Stefan Demetriou, director of audiovisual at EMI Music, in a statement.

Now Play It's most popular download is currently a clip of K.T. Tunstall explaining how to play "Suddenly I See" on guitar. Little Man Tate, Supergrass and Blur have also contributed digital tutorials to the service.
