MTV parent Viacom Brand Solutions International is partnering with European online travel agency Shoestring for a multi-platform branded initiative.

The marketing partnership between Viacom and the Dutch online adventure travel operator will launch first in the U.K. in September, followed by Germany, Italy and Spain.

Ten three-minute films, called MTV SoundTrip, will focus on music festivals and exotic locations, screening across TV, Web and mobile platforms from Sept. 1 in the U.K.

"By partnering with Shoestring, we have teamed up with a company that reflects our commitment to adding value to the lives of young people with the same innovation, adventure, and dynamic spirit that MTV has built its success on," comments Melisa Quiñoy, executive VP of Viacom Brands Solutions International in a statement.

"Combining each of our distinct expertise, we can provide our viewers a platform that marries music with travel in a relevant and motivating way that we know our audience can relate to."

Viewers from the U.K., Germany, Italy and Spain can also log on to a co-branded localized microsite. Each site will host a festival gig guide, with listings for global concerts and festivals and links to Shoestring's website.

An MTV and Shoestring Music Passport competition will send a winner and a friend to five MTV award shows across the globe. The competition will launch in December.
