The Police, Sex Pistols and Linkin Park have been named in the line-up for the 11th edition of Italy's Heineken Jammin' Festival, to be held at the Parco San Giuliano near Venice on June 20, 21 and 22.

Alanis Morrisette, the Stooges and Counting Crowes will also play, while Italian rock legend Vasco Rossi will close the final night.

The event, sponsored by brewer Heineken, is organised by the City of Venice and concert promoters, Milan Concerti. Tickets are available from at €42 ($64) per day and €96 ($148) for all three days.

The festival has been the country's main outdoor rock event since its inception in 1998. It was held at the Imola Formula One racetrack for its first nine years. Last year it was moved to Venice, where it got off to an inauspicious start: the 2007 edition was suspended mid-way when a freak gale-force wind knocked over an amplification tower, injuring 25 fans in the process.
