Britain's culture secretary Andy Burnham will be a guest speaker at PPL's annual general meeting, to be held June 4 at the British Music in central London.

Burnham was appointed secretary of state for Culture, Media and Sport in a cabinet reshuffle in January, succeeding James Purnell.

Since taking the role, Burnham has been steadily raising his profile and involvement in the music industry. The member of parliament last month took part in the launch of the music industry's funding in the Kickz community sporting project and the government's formal response to a parliamentary report on the secondary ticketing sector.
