U.K. solo artist Leona Lewis has earned the most audience votes to represent the U.K. and Ireland as Europe's Favourite Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, to be held Nov. 6 at London's Liverpool Echo Arena.

Lewis held off competition from Adele, Duffy, the Ting Tings and The Wombats in the Virgin Train-sponsored category. She leads the 2008 nomination charge, alongside Coldplay and Duffy, with three nods to her name.

Since winning British TV show “The X Factor” in 2006, Lewis has sold over 4.4 million albums worldwide and topped charts in ten countries with her debut album “Spirit” (Syco/Sony BMG), according to Sony BMG.
