Multi-platinum U.K. melodic-rock act Snow Patrol will return to London's O2 arena for two dates on their "Take Back the Cities" 2009 tour.

The March 14 and 15 dates will be the band's first at the 18,500-capacity O2 since June 2007.

"Snow Patrol were one of the first acts to play The O2 so we are thrilled to welcome them back," said David Campbell, CEO & president of AEG Europe, O2's parent company.

The "Take Back The Cities" tour runs from Feb. 22 to March 19, promoted by Metropolis Music. The tour begins at Bournemouth International Centre and wraps at Belfast Odyssey.

Snow Patrol launched their third major label album, "A Hundred Million Suns" (Fiction/Polydor), with a whirlwind tour of Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh and London, featuring four shows in two days. The set was released Oct. 27 in the U.K. and Oct. 28 in the U.S.
