Alan Johnson, U.K. secretary of state for health, has been confirmed as the guest keynote speaker at recorded music licensing body PPL's annual general meeting.

The AGM will take place on June 3 at King's Place in London. PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited) is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

Johnson is currently being tipped as a potential prime minister in the event that Gordon Brown steps down or is forced out by Labour MPs ahead of a 2010 election. Johnson is also a music lover and, on a recent appearance on Radio 4's "Desert Island Discs," he named works by the Beatles, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Neil Young and Mahler as being among his favorite songs.
