dick clark productions and Tubefilter have announced the 7th annual Streamy Awards will take place Sept. 26, with nominations now open to fans.
This year's awards will now include branded and social good categories, as well as a greater emphasis on original series with the addition of comedy and drama series awards. The show has also removed any gender distinctions in the performance categories.
"With new and expanded categories in social good, branded entertainment, and original series, this year's Streamy Awards reflect the growth and evolution of online and social video," Streamy Awards creator Drew Baldwin said in a statement. "Our new awards reflect the spirit of the industry, abandoning gender distinctions to focus on the unparalleled talent and passion that drives the creator community and their audiences."
The Streamy Awards allows the public to choose one of the five official nominees in select categories, with the entrant in each select category receiving the most fan nominations awarded a nominee slot. As well, the Creator of the Year and Show of the Year awards will be determined entirely by fan vote.
Submissions and fan nominations for the Streamy Awards are now open via the Streamys website and close at 11:59 pm PT on Friday, June 9, 2017. Nominations will be announced this summer.
