Contrary to reports that Britney Spears' new album Glory will be released Friday streaming exclusively via Apple Music, Billboard has confirmed the pop star's ninth studio album will be come out on all digital platforms.
Confusion arose earlier this month when Spears tweeted promoting the new album's pre-order, stating that it would be available on Apple Music without any mention of Spotify or other services.

With Spears now headlining London's Apple Music Fest next month, it's possible her tweet favoring Apple Music was is in order to generate good will with the company around that booking.
Sources at Spotify tell Billboard that their service is actually partnering with Spears' team on the release to feature the new album across the platform, but not as part of any exclusive deal.
As well, source with Spears' label Sony Music Entertainment have verified that Glory will not be released exclusive with any service.
Amidst the ongoing streaming wars between major players Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal, streaming exclusives have become a new industry standard for high-profile releases. But the tides might be turning, as Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge has now called for an end to these single-platform exclusives on his label.
Troy Carter, Spotify’s global head of creator services and former manager to Meghan Trainor and John Legend, told Billboard in a recent interview: "Most labels are getting around to understanding that exclusives aren’t great for the business. As a manager, I would want my artists' music to be everywhere. When you carve it out to one service, you miss out on fans."
