AEG Live Seals Deal to Provide Music Clips to National CineMedia

To increase awareness of concert tours and new music to moviegoers, AEG Live will supply short music clips to National CineMedia, a top provider of advertising in movie theaters.

The first videos -- 10- and 20-second clips -- promote the 24-city Enrique Iglesias-Pitbull tour that starts Sept. 12 in Newark, N.J. Each month, a new AEG Live-affiliated artist will be featured on nearly 20,000 cinema screens through NCM’s "FirstLook" preshow. Besides concerts and  music releases, the clips will cover charitable initiatives and other artist activities.

Through the Shazam app, movie patrons will be able to purchase concert tickets or music for artists featured in the AEG Live music segments before films start. The deal makes AEG Live the top music supplier to NCM.

Cliff Marks, president of sales and marketing with National CineMedia, calls the new set-up "the perfect addition to the moviegoing experience.”

The three largest theater chains in the U.S., Regal Entertainment Group, AMC and Cinemark, own National CineMedia. The Anschutz Corp., which owns AEG Live, also owns the Regal theater chain.
