Warner Music Group promotes Sara Nemerov to senior VP/head of global consumer products and brand licensing, Billboard has learned.
In addition to overseeing consumer products and brand licensing, Nemerov will develop retail partnerships and new product lines in collaboration with WMG labels and artists.
“We’re trying to find the best avenue for [artists] to make money, as well as helping them have a program and a presence when they’re off-cycle on their albums,” says Nemerov, who has grown her department by hiring licensing managers Alana Schnee and Katie Reilly.
Schnee, who previously held roles at Brand Squared Licensing and Estee Lauder Company, will work on apparel, accessories, footwear, cosmetics and home textiles.Reilly, who joins WMG from the National Basketball Association, will assist with building global licensing activities on food and beverages, home furnishings, sporting goods and toys/games.
Nemerov is based in New York and reports to WMG COO/corporate Rob Wiesenthal.
She previously served as senior VP of consumer products and brand licensing for Rhino Entertainment and Frank Sinatra Enterprises. Since joining WMG in 2009, Nemerov has brokered licensing deals for the Grateful Dead and Cody Simpson, and is currently working with Wiz Khalifa.
