At issue are unaccounted and unpaid royalties for a sample of “I’m In Love,” used in Erykah Badu’s 2007 single “Honey.” McDonald originally wrote and produced “I’m in Love” for Nancy Wilson. The track is featured on Wilson’s 1978 album "Music on My Mind."  McDonald’s production and musician credits include collaborations with Bill Withers (“Lovely Day”) and the Emotions (“Best of My Love”). McDonald also co-wrote Deniece Williams’ “Silly,” used in Monica’s 2010 hit single “Everything to Me.”
