Dave Homan, Chief Operating Officer for New Era, died Dec. 21 from complications of open heart surgery. He was 59.
Homan had been with New Era Tickets since 2003, and had more than 35 years of experience in the sports, entertainment, and ticketing business. Prior to working with New Era Tickets, a subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, he had been a general manager for Ticketmaster in the Philadelphia and New York regions.
Homan was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, he worked in the administrative offices at TV Guide in Radnor, Pennsylvania. He then worked in the box office and marketing department at the Philadelphia Spectrum Arena, before becoming a Ticketmaster manager.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Morganti Homan; daughters, Megan Marchetti and Colette Kruzel; a son, Matthew; two sisters; a brother; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Mass was held on December 27th at St. John Chrysostom Roman Catholic Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, Pennsylvania.
