Creative Artists Agency's music division now has a New York presence. Joe Brauner and Mario Tirado, both most recently of Monterey Peninsula Artists in the city, have shifted to CAA as agents. They bring Norah Jones with them to CAA as well as a handful of other acts.

CAA's music division, overseen by Rob Light, is based in Beverly Hills, Calif. The agency also has an office in Nashville. This will be its first New York presence for the 29-year-old agency and its 20-year-old music division, according to Light.

Light says the time is right for CAA to open a New York office. "This is such a vibrant music scene right now, so to have someone who can [interact] with the managers, labels and lawyers, and then go out at night to see what's happening, is very important," he tells Billboard.biz. "Joe and Mario are great bookers with great ears and great personalities."

Brauner began his career in 1983 at Venture Bookings in New York. In 1988, he joined Agency for the Performing Arts and served in its New York office for 13 years.

Tirado began his career in 1985 in the mailroom at International Creative Management. He joined Agency for the Performing Arts in 1986, where he spent the next 14 years.
