A lawsuit between Christian labels Thomas Nelson and Visual Bible over the video rights to "The Gospel of John" has led one major distributor to stop shipment of the title.

Ingram Entertainment says it will stop distributing the title, due in stores tomorrow (April 6), because it does not want to get involved in the lawsuit.

Thomas Nelson filed suit in December against Visual Bible in a Nashville federal court, claiming that it has the exclusive right to distribute the title under a 2001 contract.

A hearing in the case is set for April 20. Thomas Nelson wants a preliminary injunction on the distribution of "The Gospel of John."

Numerous distributors, including Waxworks, VPD, Baker & Taylor and Navarre, are still shipping the title.
