Blender magazine has named Eric Simon associate publisher. He was director of business development at Blender parent company Dennis Publishing. In his new position, New York-based Simon reports to Dennis executive VP/Blender group publisher Lance Ford.
Headquartered in New York, Blender publishes 10 times a year, and the magazine's circulation has grown steadily since its launch in 2001. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), Blender's average paid circulation jumped to 536,906 (up 12.5%) from July to December 2003.
Blender has now surpassed The Source to become the No. 4 consumer music magazine in the United States, according to the latest ABC figures. Blender is also quickly closing in on No. 3-ranked Spin, whose average paid circulation is 560,531. Rolling Stone still remains No.1 (with 1.3 million average paid circulation), followed by Vibe (834,984).
