New network to launch this year.

The Gospel Music Channel, which is slated to bow later this year, is staffing up.

Genia Edelman has been named VP of affiliate sales and marketing for the Atlanta-based network. Edelman was the regional director of sales distribution affiliate sales and marketing for 14 Discovery Networks.

Based in Nashville, Stacey Killian Hagewood has joined the channel as executive producer. The television veteran will oversee all facets of Nashville production for the channel. She previously spent 12 years at Country Music Television, where she developed programming and helped to re-brand the channel.

Both executives will report directly to Charles Humbard, who, as previously announced, has been named president/CEO of the Gospel Music Channel. Former president of Turner Entertainment Networks Brad Siegel will serve as vice chairman.
