Paul Cothran to head nonprofit group.
Paul Cothran has been named VP/executive director of VH1's Save the Music Foundation. Based in New York, he reports to VH1 president Christina Norman.
Cothran will oversee the nonprofit organization, which restores music programs and promotes music education in public schools throughout the United States.
Cothran most recently served as director of health and community programs for the Big Apple Circus, where he was responsible for administration for the company's community-outreach programs.
Since Save the Music's inception in 1997, it has donated more than $25 million worth of new instruments to 1,000 schools.
