Mike Collier, a veteran music publishing executive, died Aug. 12 in his sleep in London. He was 71. A coroner's inquiry revealed Collier had suffered a heart attack.

After a lengthy career at Carlin Music in London and in New York, Collier acted as consultant for Music Sales, reworking the old Campbell Connelly catalog. He also built up a reputation as a shrewd adviser on songwriting contracts.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and three children.

A private service will be held next week in London.
