New material slated for 2005.

New Orleans trio Better Than Ezra has signed an exclusive North American deal with Artemis Records. The group's as-yet-untitled new studio album, its first in four years, is slated for a spring 2005 release.

The roots rock trio is best known for the hit single "Good," which spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and propelled its 1995 major label debut "Deluxe" (Elektra) to platinum success.

A re-issued version of the group's 1993 self-release, "Deluxe" was followed by two more albums for Elektra before the group parted ways with the label and released 2001's "Closer" on Ezra Dry Goods/Beyond.

Better Than Ezra, whose current line-up includes vocalist/guitarist Kevin Griffin, bassist Tom Drummond and drummer Travis McNabb, has earned eight top 40 Modern Rock Tracks songs since its start in 1988.
