Jordan Berliant, GM of 10th Street Entertainment, has expanded his management role for Melbourne-based alt-rock band Motor Ace. Berliant, who signed up as the band's United States manager 12 months ago, will also look after their business in Australia and New Zealand.

The news follows the resignation of Motor Ace's Melbourne-based manager of three years, Paul Gildea, with effect from Dec. 31. Gildea says he will pursue other business interests.

The band members, who are contracted to leading Aussie indie Festival Mushroom Records, are currently recording an album, due for release mid-2005. Its sophomore 2002 album "Shoot This" reached No. 1 in Australia, and sold 70,000 units (platinum), says the label; the set also charted in Japan, where the band has since toured.
