Veteran Danish industry executive Eik Frederiksen has joined Sony BMG Denmark as director of international marketing. Based in Copenhagen, he will be responsible for marketing international acts in the territory.

"I arrived right in the middle of a merger, so it's an exciting challenge," Frederiksen comments. He reports to Sony BMG Denmark managing director Henrik Daldorph.

Frederiksen began his career in local radio 22 years ago. In the mid-'80s he became a music presenter at commercial radio station the Voice (now owned by Scandinavian Broadcasting System), and was later elevated to director of music programming. In 2001, he joined public broadcaster the Danish Broadcasting Corp. as music director for its P3 and P4 channels.

Most recently, Frederiksen was appointed program director for Sky Radio after the station won a bid for a country-wide FM frequency in 2003. He resigned from that post in April.
