Industry vet Castle to handle negotiations.

Shawn Fanning's new company, Snocap, has named Christian Castle as senior VP of legal affairs/general counsel.

Castle, who has been an advisor to Snocap since its inception in 2002, most recently was an attorney in private practice. He previously served as senior VP of business at Sony Music and VP of business and legal affairs at A&M Records.

In his new role, Castle will oversee Snocap's general legal matters, including negotiating deals with copyright owners and retailers. He will report to COO Ali Aydar.

San Francisco-based Snocap, a copyright management and filtering system, helps guide peer-to-peer network users toward comercially licensed content and blocks them from distributing or accessing unlicensed files.
