Warner Music Asia Pacific president Lachie Rutherford confirms that Warner Music China managing director Zorro Xu will leave the company "by the end of March."

Rutherford says Xu's replacement will be announced soon.

In September 2000, Warner Music International became the first major label to set up a full-scale record company in mainland China by establishing WMC as a joint venture with state-owned China National Culture and Arts. Prior to the establishment of WMC, Xu looked after Warner's business in mainland China through Warner Music Hong Kong.

Rutherford says Xu will continue in the Chinese independent-music field after he leaves WMC.
