Barnett replaces Rivers.
Infinity Broadcasting has promoted Rob Barnett to president of programming. He was senior VP of original programming, a position he had held since joining the company last year.
In his new position, Barnett replaces Steve Rivers, who will remain at Infinity as a consultant. Both executives report to chairman/CEO Joel Hollander.
New York-based Barnett will continue to oversee programming at Infinity's radio stations, as well as lead the recruitment of talent and integration of Infinity content with emerging technologies.
Prior to joining Infinity, Barnett was supervising producer for the Discovery Times Channel's "Staffers" series about the 2004 U.S. presidential campaign. He has also held management positions at MTV, VH1 and Boston rock station WAAF.
