TBA vet to focus on corporate/events.
Former TBA Entertainment president Greg Janese has joined Monterey Peninsula Artists as an agent specializing in the corporate and private engagement/event market.
Janese amicably left TBA last fall to seek other opportunities in the wake of the company's acquisition by a group led by Irving Azoff.
In his new role, Janese will book Monterey artists for corporate shows and special events. "With my background of 20 years as a buyer for corporate events and really understanding the intricacies of that market, to be on this side of the equation is a natural," he tells Billboard.biz. "Now I'm on the opposite side of the negotiation fence."
Though based in Nashville, Janese will represent the entire Monterey roster, which includes Toby Keith, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band and Trey Anastasio. "I think this is a great opportunity to offer some artists that have never been exposed to the corporate market," says Janese. "And I believe a lot of companies are looking for more contemporary artists for their corporate events."
Monterey was recently acquired by Paradigm Talent and Literary Agency.
