Acts featured in Charger campaign.

Dodge is re-launching its Charger model with a new 30-second TV spot that debuts today (May 17). The first part of a multi-tiered campaign, the ad features the mashed-up sounds of rockers Nazareth and rapper Chris Classic.

The Scottish band's "Hair of the Dog," newly recorded for this ad, is intertwined with Classic's "Live & Loose." Joel Simon of Joel Simon Music in New York -- working with ad agency BBDO Detroit -- arranged the combination.

A deal is currently near closing for the second tier of the campaign, which will feature a new ad and the sounds of Reverend Run of Run DMC's "Mind on the Road." The track is the lead single from the rapper's forthcoming Island Def Jam album, due Sept. 13.

Run, who stars in MTV's upcoming hip-hop reality sitcom, "Run's House," has also partnered with Electronic Arts. According to Run, he figures heavily into the forthcoming PlayStation 2 game, "Madden NFL 06," both in the game itself and in TV spots.
