Select Disney releases pushed to CBA market.

Walt Disney Records has signed a deal with EMI Christian Music Group to take Disney product to Christian retail. Starting August 30, EMI CMG Distribution will take select Disney releases to the Christian Booksellers Assn. (CBA) market, including nine titles from the "Baby Einstein" audio series.

During the fourth quarter, EMI CMG Distribution will also release other key Disney titles to CBA, including two "Sunday Morning Series" Read Along audio titles, "Noah's Ark" and "David & Goliath," three Playhouse Disney titles, CDs from the Winnie-the-Pooh audio franchise, and a new CD from Jim Brickman.

In November, look for two CDs from the Walt Disney Pictures film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe."

Not all Disney product will enter the Christian pipeline. According to statement from EMI, "EMI CMG Distribution has formed an internal team that will work closely with Walt Disney Records, and will call upon the counsel of its key CBA retail leaders to review all products to confirm their appropriateness for Christian retail."
