'Idol' winner to be featured in fall campaign.
Carrie Underwood joins fellow pop sensations Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera as the newest face of Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear brand Skechers. A fall campaign will feature the reigning "American Idol" winner in several of the brand's sport and fusion styles. Sketchers exclusive worldwide footwear rights end in December 2006.
The agreement, inked with 19 Merchandising Limited, coincides with the 41-city "American Idols Live!" tour- featuring the top 10 contestants from the fourth season of the Fox series- which kicks off today (July 12) at Office Depot Center, Sunrise, Fla. Underwood's 19 Recordings/Arista bow is due in November.
Underwood's debut single, "Inside Your Heaven," entered at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 this month, making it the third offering from an "Idol" contestant to do so: second season runner-up Clay Aiken's "This Is the Night" started at No. 1 in 2003 and third season winner Fantasia's "I Believe" debuted on top in 2004.
