Buongiorno Vitaminic, the Italy-based digital music and entertainment service provider for mobile and Internet platforms, is expanding through a collaboration with Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co.

The $1.4 million venture Buongiorno Hong Kong will be used to market Buongiorno's digital-distribution platform B!3A in markets such as India, China and other Asian markets experiencing growth in mobile entertainment.

Mauro Del Rio, Buongiorno Vitaminic's chairman, describes the joint-venture as the “second very important step” of its alliance with Mitsui, after the $8 million investment made by Mitsui to its U.S. operations.

In addition to supply digital platforms to third-party mobile and online services, Buongiorno Hong Kong also hopes to launch its own consumer services in the Asian and Russian markets.
