Carey, Ciara also honored.

Destiny's Child, Mariah Carey and Ciara divvied up the wealth at last night's (Sept. 7) Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, taking home two trophies apiece.

Carey and Destiny's Child, none of whom attended the event, earned best solo R&B/soul album for "The Emancipation of Mimi" (Island/Def Jam) and best group R&B/soul album for "Destiny Fulfilled" (Columbia/Sony Music), respectively. Ciara walked away as best new artist.

The night's special honorees were Aretha Franklin, who was honored with the Lena Horne Award for outstanding career achievement, and Amerie, who earned the Aretha Franklin Award for entertainer of the year.

In addition to presenting the award to Amerie, Franklin teamed with Stevie Wonder for a duet. Taped at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, the show was hosted by Brian McKnight, Toni Braxton and Ciara.

The syndicated broadcast is set to air during a Sept. 17-25 window. Winners are chosen by a panel that includes artists and radio programmers.
