New channels in Sweden, Finland, Norway.
MTV Networks International is set to launch three new Scandinavian local-language channels in Sweden, Norway and Finland on Sunday (Sept. 18).
The move follows the launch of MTV Denmark in May, and represents the first time in MTVN International's history when new channels have been unveiled in three countries on the same day.
Each national edition will feature more music and entertainment from domestic acts. The new additions will boost the number of localized MTV channels worldwide to more than 100 in 164 countries.
Until the localization program, the four countries were served by the English-language MTV Nordic channel, which will be taken off the air as the four new channels go live.
