Australian event promotes screen composers.

In its fourth year, Australia's APRA-AGSC Screen Music Awards ceremony is moving from Sydney to the BMW Edge Theatre in Melbourne.

The awards will be held on Nov. 7. They honor film and television screen composers. The black-tie event is organized by the Australasian Performing Right Association and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers Limited.

The judges for the 13 categories -- including compositions for documentaries, short films, mini-series, jingles, children's television and feature film scores -- will be from the music, film and television industries.

Nominees will be announced Sept. 28.

"It's no longer true to say that screen composers are the unsung heroes of the celluloid world," says APRA CEO Brett Cottle. "As film-makers and audiences, we've learnt to appreciate the collaborative and creative talents screen composers bring to each celluloid adventure."
