Offering to be free during initial period.
EMI Music Group and Nokia have teamed to offer music fans in Finland a trial service that would allow users to download music and related content directly to their mobile phones over a Bluetooth wireless connection in select locations.
Rather than downloading content over the wireless carrier network, EMI is working with Free Record Shop music stores and Roberts' Coffee cafes in Helsinki to host the content themselves and offer it for free to their customers over a Bluetooth connection.
The service, called bFree, requires patrons to download the application to their phone, which then enables them to browse for and download the available content. It will remain free during the trial period.
