More than 1,500 themed products are coming.
Walt Disney Home Entertainment has revealed plans for a vast marketing campaign in support of its next “Platinum Collection” title, “The Little Mermaid.”
The title, which has not been available for sale in more than seven years, will be released Oct. 3 as a two-disc special edition DVD. Its the eighth in Disney’s Platinum DVD series, which has included major releases such as “Cinderella” and “Aladdin.”
Disney will partner with licensees such as Mattel, CDI, Playmates and Hallmark to release more than 1,500 new “Little Mermaid”-themed products beginning this summer.
Details about the DVD’s bonus materials will be announced soon.
