New Light will release 12 to 24 video and audio titles yearly.

The newly-formed home entertainment company New Light Entertainment will release 12 to 24 audio and video titles per year.

New Light—which was formed by industry veteran Tom Sykes—has already secured a multi-year distribution deal with Visual Entertainment for its home video product and a music distribution agreement with VE’s parent Univesal Music & Video Distribution.

The first New Light release will be the comedy “Dumber Than Dirt,” starring Jennifer Tillky and Luke Perry. An exact release date has not yet been set.

New Light is expected to release titles from a varieety of film and music genres.

Sykes most recently served as VP of sales at Showtimes Network, and has also worked at Embassy Pictures, Vestron, Turner Entertainment and WEA.
