Musicane has named Michelle Robertson as its chief marketing officer. She reports to Musicane CEO Sudhin Shahani and is based in Los Angeles.

Musicane provides e-commerce solutions that enable artists and labels to sell digital downloads from their Web sites.

Most previously Robertson was with, which she co-founded in 1997, as director of marketing and artist relations.

"I look forward to bringing my wealth of experience to Musicane and showing artists how to better position themselves to be in the business of music," said Robertson in a statement.
