To help establish human clinical trials program.

Latin superstar couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan will donate $1 million to help establish a human clinical trials program at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami. The Estefans announced their gift at a press conference on March 21, along with
Miami Project co-founders Nick and Marc Buoniconti.

The Miami Project, on which board Gloria Estefan sits, is the world's largest spinal chord injury research center. The Estefans have been supporters of the Project for many years, both individually and through the Gloria
Estefan Foundation.

Gloria Estefan was almost paralyzed after suffering a traffic accident during a nationwide tour 16 years ago.
