Agreement covers new releases, catalog material.
Lifestyle/electronic label Quango Music Group has entered into an exclusive distribution deal with Univeral Music Group's independent distribution arm Fontana. Under the agreement, Fontana will distribute new releases and catalog material. The deal also extends to Kruder & Dorfmeister's international G-Stone Recordings label, which Quango recently signed to its U.S. associated labels division.
Recent Quango releases include Gecko Turner's "Guapapasea!" and Bitter:Sweet's "The Mating Game." Kraak & Smaak's debut album "Boogie Angst" arrives May 16. Due later this year are such compilations as "American Rag Cie, Vol. 2" and "Dub Selector 3."
With this Fontana partnership, 17 titles from the Quango/Island vaults, circa 1995-1997, will be available for the first time since the late-'90s. Additionally, they'll be available for the first time digitally—at the iTunes Music Store, MSN and other online retailers. Fourteen titles from Quango's joint venture with Palm Pictures (2000-2004) are slated for future re-release through the Fontana network. Influential electronic acts like Zero 7 and Koop have recorded for Quango.
Quango is distributed by Fontana North in Canada.
